Bakery and bar owner? Getting drunk and having fresh pastries? Sound good.  I want to own my own business when I am older. Which would be a bakery during the day and then a bar in the night. I am interested in doing this because I  always wanted to be working in a bakery and I always wanted to be a bartender. So owning my own bakery and bar would be a dream job. I couldn't say there's a lot of  history on my career because I  have never heard of anybody owning a a bar and bakery. Also, I would need to take come classes and get a license for my company. Lastly, a lot of work is going to go into owning this business.
This career with both bakery and bar isn't really relevant in the US. But bakery and A bar it self is. Baking  has been around for thousands of years. Baking started during the Roman Empire.  It was a highly famous art as Roman citizens loved baked goods and demanded for them frequently for important occasions such as feasts and weddings etc. Due to the fame and desire that the art of baking received around 300 BC, baking was introduced as an occupation for Romans. Bake goods started to get more popular and go to many different countries like Rome, Germany, London, etc. Look at how popular bakeries are now!  Bartending... Began as a trade thousands of years ago. Around the time of Julius Caesar bartenders transported and would serve wine. Public drinking houses (now known as pubs) would be a place where people would go to socialize and drink. In 15th century woman would be house owners and make there own liquor! Bartenders were know as "member of the economic and social elite". They were pretty wealthy.
In order for me to have my own company as a bar and a bakery I would need to put in a lot of work and studying, For the bakery I  would need a food sanitation license, a bakery site inspection and a professional bakery certification. If I went to college I would major in bakery and pastry arts. For bartending I would defiantly need to have my liquor license in order to serve people drinks. I would go to bartending classes to learn how to make the drinks. Than, I would gain experience and work at a bar and see if it would be  something I would actually be interested in doing. I would actually create this business when I am about 28 years old so I can gain a lot of experience in both jobs and so I can save enough money to actually fund the company.
Daily tasks for my company? Mornings would be a lot of work. You need to make all types of fresh bread. Bolillos, donuts, cakes, pastries, cupcakes, etc. It sounds easy but the whole bakery needs to be filled up. You need to do all the orders for everything in the whole bakery and do inventory to see what you have and what you need in order to order it.  You need to take out fresh bolillos like every hour or people get really impatient. Everything will have to be nice and organized, be fresh, be clean, and it HAS to all look pretty! If your going make cakes and pastries might as well be creative and decorate everything really nice. Daily routines for bartending I feel like would be a lot easier. He/she must make patrons of the establishment feel welcome, secure, and relaxed. To the patrons of a bar, the bartender is a very powerful figure. Bartenders must keep their work area clean. Counter tops and tables must be cleaned with disinfectant, soap and water. Outside furniture must also be wiped at the start of the day. Make sure people drink responsibly.
This career will be challenging because it is a lot of work! Its 2 jobs in 1. A few perks will be you'd be able to  be as creative as you want with the pastries, you'd be able to eat some of the pastries, and FREE  DRINKS! I feel like the job market life for a bakery itself and a bar it self is very good. There's bakeries and bars in literally every corner. Imagine the two combined in one? I guess will find out in the future. It would help the community out by having all types of fresh cakes and pastries and drinks for them as soon as they come in.
I think this career would be perfect for me because I love baking. I love decorating the cakes and cupcakes I make. My manager recently showed me how to do flowers with oranges and tomatoes and yesterday I made a double layered cake and I decorated it with the flowers she showed me how to make. I like getting creative and making it pretty. Also, I would love to learn how to make all types of drinks. I've always wanted to be a bartender and having my own business of the two I would love. It would be a lot of work but your not going to get anywhere in life if you don't put in work for what you want.
